Analyzing how Niftify helped Repton School enhances student’s experiences and achievements through an innovative education certificate
Repton came to Niftify with the goal to launch a brand-new digital academic certificate as part of a unique project where students have their school journey registered on the blockchain: the Repton Passport. Partnering first with EduChain, a trusted blockchain provider for top universities in the UAE, Repton’s students have a collection of academic records, including transcripts, certifications, class pictures, awards, and extra-curricular portfolios registered on the Polygon blockchain.
To celebrate the launch of the Repton Passport and help students and their parents onboard Web3, Repton also wanted to offer students a view of all their academic achievements displayed and stored safely in the form of a nonfungible token. To do so, they needed a trustable and compliant platform to create, store, and publish the digital certificates, where students and their parents would have an efficient user experience to mint it (being the first minting experience for most). Repton wanted to be a pioneer with this project. As a prestigious group of schools, Repton takes great pride in being ahead of the curve technologically for the benefit of their students.
It was only natural that Repton wanted to continue that legacy by being the first educational institution of this kind to issue this type of token. “We wanted to create a passport, showing the long-term journey of our students, not just allowing them to see their paperwork but also to track their student life and save their important work as a memory on the blockchain” said Penelope Georgakis, Group Marketing & Communications Director at Evolvence Knowledge Investments (EKI), owner of Repton School Abu Dhabi. “It wasn’t just about having the latest technology and showing off what we could do. We wanted to make it meaningful in the lives of our students and allow them to customize it based on their own experience so that they will always have something to remember about the Repton experience. We want to always have the latest advances for our students to enjoy, knowing what they learn will be relevant in the world that they experience after their education.”
Niftify set to work by offering a compliant and easy-to-use platform personalized for Repton’s team to create their Repton Passport NFTs for students and parents to mint. The platform was set up and available to Repton’s staff and an entire graduating class as the testing ground for the basic concept, and aimed to expand to every class in every grade once the concept was fully realized. With Niftify’s platform offering both the backend and frontend for Repton’s NFT store, students and parents can have a seamless onboarding experience to Web3 and receive their very first NFTs as an academic certificate.
Repton Passport NFTs were made available through Repton’s NFT store, powered by Niftify, for students to celebrate their academic journey. The project served the targeted audience (students and their parents) with a positive experience for their first actual interaction with NFTs offering personal usefulness. Niftify offered an efficient and seamless platform to support Repton’s team, contributing to their goal of being pioneers in this kind of utility project for the region.
